1. Mobile Dental Program is coming to Beaverton Schools on May 16 th , 17 th , & 18 th .
Dental Bus permission slips are available in the Jr/Sr High school office. Permission
slips need to be turned in the office by 5/16/2023.
2. Any 16 to 18 year old girl interested in earning some scholarship money a fun way?
Come to the office to pick up some information in regards to the Miss Beaverton
Pageant. Pageant will be held June 24 th .
3. BPA is selling cookies at lunch on Wednesday and Friday. $1.00 per package.
4. JMG is hosting their annual job fair May 10 th from 11:00-12:00 in the library. There
will be businesses there for students to talk to about summer employment and
potential work based learning. Bring your resumes!

DOSE OF REALITY: Learning essential life skills was the order of the day at the annual Reality Store event this morning. This collaboration between Beaverton Schools, Clare-Gladwin CTE and Mid Michigan College presents students with scenarios set in the not-so-distant future like: You've got a husband and three kids. What kind of job do you need to help support your family and live the life you want? Students are given a strict budget and need to account for life's necessities like housing, transportation, food, insurance, entertainment and more. Their mission is to make it all fit within their budgets. The lessons are numerous and valuable - everything from career planning to money management. #LifeSkills #GoBeavers
MOSTLY EXCELLENT, WITH A CHANCE OF LEARNING: When it comes to Michigan weather, we all feel like experts. But this guy actually is. WNEM Chief Meteorologist Chris Easlick stormed the BJSHS halls today, stopping by to chat with students about the science behind weather forecasting and what it takes to have a career in meteorology. #CoolWeather #GoBeavers
THE TRACK IS BACK, JACK! - Our middle schoolers christened it with a two-team meet last week, but last night marked the first time in several years that our high school track and field squad was able to host a meet, welcoming Gladwin and Clare to our sparkling new facilities. Seeing the red and white running, jumping and throwing at a home meet once again was a long time coming, but it was a glorious sight to behold. #Grateful #GoBeavers

TOMORROW'S LEADERS GET STARTED EARLY: The BJSHS National Honor Society hosted its 2023 Leadership Conference today as nearly 60 Beaverton students as well as several from other schools convened at the BAC to hear from various speakers about career success. Sprinkled in between presenters were group activities and food, and closing out the five-hour event was a heartfelt talk from retired BJSHS teacher John Mishler, whose advice was straightforward but substantial: Show up on time, work hard and make sure you're happy. #WiseWords #GoBeavers

STATE OF THE ART: You absolutely must carve out some time to stop by the BAC on Saturday for the Gladwin County Artist Guild's annual Student Art Show. Our BJSHS students have been working hard and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., you'll not only be able to view their work, but to purchase it as well. Prices start at $5 and all proceeds go directly to the student artist; these pieces will also be eligible for viewer's choice awards. sidewalks put in on M-18 and Crockett Road. The sidewalks need time to set up:

6. The track team competed at the St. Louis Invitational on Friday. Scoring points for
the team were: Taj Spencer – 8 th in the 1600, William Warner – 6 th in the pole vault,
Tessa Wohlschlegel – 2 nd in the 1600 and 5 th in the 200, Faith Danielak – 6 th in the
discus, and Taylor McCormack – 8 th in the long jump. The team competes in
Pinconning on Wednesday along with Farwell.
