From the student handbook, page 26: A tardy student may be excused when the reasons for being tardy are beyond his/her control (illness, office business, excuse from another staff member). It is reasonable expectations that in order for a learning activity to exist, students must arrive to class on time. Students who continually do not meet these expectations are considered to be tardy. Tardies will begin over at the end of each quarter. Listed below are the procedures for unexcused tardies. •1st tardy, the teacher warns the student verbally •2nd tardy, the teacher provides the student with a written or verbal warning which includes a parent contact •3rd, 4th and 5th tardies, the teacher assigns a one-hour or two hour detention with a parent contact •6th + tardies, the teacher sends down a referral to the office.
