HERE'S TO OUR HEALER: Today is National School Nurse Day, and there's nobody better at that job than our very own Jada Carland. She covers both buildings like a blanket, keeping our kids safe, healthy and ready to learn, and she's vital to our educational community. #Healthy

BES Running Club 1 Mile Fun Run will be on Wednesday, May 31 at 4:00.

SHORT STORY SHORT: We'll keep this simple: Beaverton teachers are amazing, and all week long, we're going to celebrate them for everything they do for our kids. Watch this space for Beaverton teacher profiles that are equal parts heartfelt and instructive, and if the mood strikes you, reach out to a teacher you love and tell 'em why. Nothing says 'thank you' like saying the words 'thank you.' (But chocolate's a pretty decent Plan B.) #TeacherAppreciationWeek #GoBeavers

ELEMENTARY BUS DISMISSAL TIME CHANGE: We will be temporarily dismissing students at 3:07pm effective Wednesday, May 3, 2023 until further notice. We are encountering transportation issues that are causing the delay. Our transportation supervisor is working to rectify this situation so that we can resume our normal dismissal time. You will be notified when we resume with the 3:02 dismissal. If you need your child prior to that time, please contact our office for arrangements. We apologize for the change. As always, thank your for support and understanding.

2nd graders made many memories today at the Loons game! It may have been rainy and cold, but everyone had a good time! ⚾️

There's still time to shop our "Buy One, Get One" book fair! The fair will be open tomorrow, Thursday, April 27th, from 8:00-9:30 and 12:00-4:00. Friday hours are 8:00-11:00. Books have been flying off the shelves! Thank you for your AMAZING support!

DY-NO-MITE! Teachers and staff at BES, forever seeking ways to engage students during state testing like this week's M-STEP exams, brought in a ringer at an assembly this morning - Dynamite the Dinosaur. The vaguely familiar T-Rex fired up students, encouraging them to get a solid night's rest, eat a good breakfast, pace themselves and embrace this opportunity to show their growth. The teaching staff led a loud and spirited song-and-dance routine that left kids ready to run through a wall. Testing begins tomorrow. #LetsDoThis #GoBeavers

Please be advised that Friday, May 5, is now scheduled as a full day for students. This allows us to finish the school year on June 6, which will be a half-day for students. ONE LAST LOOK: If you missed last night's baseball games versus Gladwin at Dow Diamond, head over to https://bit.ly/3UtUQgs and enjoy some photos of a great night at the ol' ballgame. Players and fans alike had a grand time. #GoBeavers

PLEASE BE AWARE: Per our friends from Beaverton Township, starting Wednesday, April 12th, the southbound lane of M-18 in front of the Beaverton Schools Central Office will be shut down for the installation of a sidewalk that will run from there south to Crockett Road, then west to BJSHS. The middle lane will used as the temporary southbound lane until construction is complete. Drivers should expect congestion at peak times; it may be advisable to consider alternative routes.

Our planted pinwheels are shining in the sun today! Bright futures are what we believe in for all of our children. Let our planted pinwheels remind you that April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and we support happy and healthy childhoods for everyone.

NOTED LAGOMORPH CAUSES STIR: When it comes to celebrity greeters, it's tough to top the Easter Bunny. BES students were met on their way into the school this morning by the long-eared hopper, exchanging hellos, high fives and hugs. (SO! MANY! HUGS!) E.B. then passed through the halls for a bit before hitting the road for what is sure to be a busy weekend. #RabbitNation #GoBeavers
