1. Reminder, 8th grade reality store is taking place during 1st, 2nd, and 3rd hour today. Students
will be called down to the library by the first letter of their last name at the beginning of each
hour. Please bring a pencil with you to the library.
2. JMG students, remember you are meeting during Lunch and WIN today. Please get your lunch
and report to Room 232.
3. There will be a meeting at lunch time on Wednesday, in the library, for any students interested
in cross country this next fall. This includes middle school and high school.
4. Yearbooks for this school year can be ordered until Friday, May 27th.
5. Seniors: Have you completed your Senior slide assignment in Google Classroom? Get those
candid photos to Mrs. Kintner for the Parents Night slide show.
6. Students going on the Mackinac Island Field trip will have to sign up for a bus to ride in Ms.
Coughlin's room. There are three buses going, so you can choose which bus you would like to be
on. Stop by between classes to make your selection. First come first serve. If you do not sign up
by the end of this week your bus will be chosen for you.

Events Results: The Spring Concert was absolutely amazing last night. Thank you to all the
volunteers who helped make this possible. The student musicians pulled together to showcase
their talents and love for music. Mrs. Seanne Danielak was able to coordinate former students
and local band directors to join our band to honor Mrs. K's 38 years at Beaverton. A heartfelt
Thank you to everyone who made this night so "magical".
The track team sent their freshmen and sophomores to an invite in Harrison last night. Medal
winners for the Beavers were: Mason Ptak 1st in shot put and 2nd in discus, Justin Woods 6th in
shot put and 4th in discus, William Warner 3rd in pole vault, Tessa Wohlshlegel 1st in 1600 and
3200, and Karley Fischer 4th in long jump. The team competes in Charlevoix on Thursday for
Regionals.

Under the direction of Mrs. Catherine Kintner, the Beaverton Junior/Senior High School music department held it's annual Spring Concert. The students performed beautifully. The evening was capped off by a performance of past students and music directors from around the area celebrating Mrs. Kintner's 38 yrs of teaching and up coming retirement. What a wonderful positive, uplifting celebration!

1. NO GYM TODAY AT LUNCH TIME due to the band concert tonight. Middle School students will go
outside through the front gym doors.
2. Band and Choir members need to report in concert attire by 6 pm tonight. The concert begins @
6:30 pm
3. There will be a meeting at lunch time on Wednesday, in the library, for any students interested

CTE's best and brightest were on full display in this year's CTE Student Excellence Awards at an event held in the Construction Trades lab. Students were recognized in such categories as Most Improved, Above & Beyond and Outstanding Student. New inductees to the National Technical Honor Society were also applauded. Congratulations to Kamron Lee, Ethan Fox, Kadence Nickel, Dominick Cornell, Ariana Humphries, Jenna Armstrong, Haley Powell and Colby Christian. Austin Farrow, Austin Sheets and Kolten Gordert were awarded but are not pictured.

The 8th grade science classes enjoyed a visit from Ahmad Bajjey, chief meteorologist from NBC 25. It was a great way to end our unit on weather and hear first hand how weather is predicted from someone who does it for a living. Students watched, listened and asked questions as Ahmad shared his love for weather!

2. The Music Department proudly presents their annual spring concert Monday, May 16 @ 6:30
pm in the Beaverton JSHS Gym. Admission is free and open to the public.
3. Mrs. Kintner needs help after school today. Students willing to help or needing hours - please
stop in during lunch to talk to her.
4. Seniors: Get those Open House cards to Mrs. Kintner if you want it posted on our wall. Ten
school days until Graduation :)
5. Free Lollipops in front of the office are provided in Celebration of Prevention Week, the Clare
Gladwin Prevention Coalition provided the Candy Grams! We want to remind you that substance
use such as vaping, drinking and Marijuana can make daily life difficult, impair school
performance, lead to ongoing addiction issues, cause poor health and can ruin relationships with
friends and family. Throughout this week we are making it our goal to help you all choose to
refuse substance us!

3. Music department will hold an Awards Banquet on Wednesday, May 18 @ 6:30 pm in the JSHS
Cafe. The Music Boosters will furnish desserts and refreshments. Band/Choir/Color Guard
members were asked to turn their reservation forms in by today.
4. There will be a Blood Drive in the library today, May 12 th in the library.
5. Students with the warm weather here it is time to remove food that may spoil from your lockers.
A stinky building is unpleasant to learn and work in.
6. Students who were chosen as a mentor for next year: You will have a meeting today in Mrs.
Sprague classroom at 11:10. If you have a signed permission form please bring it. It will be 10-15
minutes!

Events Results: The track team competed against Meridian and Farwell last night. Both teams
earned their first conference win against Farwell. Top finishers for the boys were Noah Coffey
winning the 200, high jump and long jump and 3rd in the 1600. Taj Spencer was 2nd in the 1600
and 110 hurdles. Tessa Wohlschlegel was 1st in the 1600 and 2nd in the 3200. Karley Fischer
was 3rd in the 300 hurdles and Celina Demirdal was 3rd in the long jump.

The track team competed against Meridian and Farwell last night. Both teams earned their first conference win against Farwell. Top finishers for the boys were Noah Coffey winning the 200, high jump and long jump and 3rd in the 1600. Taj Spencer was 2nd in the 1600 and 110 hurdles. Tessa Wohlschlegel was 1st in the 1600 and 2nd in the 3200. Karley Fischer was 3rd in the 300 hurdles and Celina Demirdal was 3rd in the long jump. GO RED!
Softball beats Harrison 14-3 and 16-0 and Baseball victorious over Hornets 8-5 and 13-3. Beavers travel to Gladwin on Thursday. GO RED!
Students of the month for April were honored this morning by their nominating teachers at BJSHS. Congratulations to each one of you! Keep up the great work!
The track team was at Meridian on Friday night for the Nite Trax Invitational. Medal winners were: Noah Coffey 2nd in the 100, 1st in the 400, 1st in long jump and 2nd in high jump. Noah also won the field event MVP for the meet. Tessa Wohlshlegel was 2nd in the 1600 and 1st in the 3200. Way to go!
It's Back! BJSHS Prom 2022 was a great success. Student's enjoyed live dinner music and then danced the night away with the DJ. Pau Chesa was crowned King and Alejandra Martinez was crowned queen. Thank you to everyone who helped make this a fabulous event that the students will remember for a lifetime.
Our final guest of the year, paramedic Mark Sommers, talks to Mrs. Sprague’s anatomy class about emergency airway management. You never know, one of these students could be serving our community in medical field in the near future! Thank you to all the medically trained guests this year!

1. Dual enrolled students that have physical textbooks need to turn them in asap. If you do not
turn in your book you will be billed for the cost. See Mrs. Phillips if you have any questions.
2. 7th graders that did not meet the behavior expectations in order to attend the Loons Game next
week will be informed today that they can't attend the field trip.
3. All 8th, 9th, and 10th graders that are interested in going on the Mackinaw field trip on June 4th,
please remember to get your permission slip and money to Ms. Coughlin before May 11th.
4. 8th, 9th and 10th Grade Students must meet the following behavior expectations beginning on
Tuesday, May 3rd through Friday, June 3rd in order to attend the Mackinaw Island Field Trip:
Those students who accumulate more than 3 lunch detentions for behavior, more than one after
school detention for behavior, or more than one day of an in school OR out-of-school suspension
will be excluded from the field trip. Students will be informed on Friday, June 3rd if they are not
able to attend the field trip due to not meeting these behavior expectations.

6. The HS Band will perform at the Pines Nursing Home on Monday, May 9th. Please excuse

School policies are in effect since this is a "school sponsored" event.
The doors open @ 6 pm with dinner being served @ 6:30 pm.
Students are NOT allowed to go out to their cars unless accompanied by an adult chaperone.
Please be respectful of the decorations, lighting, and backdrops.
8. There will be a blood drive on Thursday, May 12th in the library. Any qualified donors that sign
up before May 12th can come to Mrs. Sanderson's room on the morning of the blood drive
before classes start to get a breakfast burrito for Donor Appreciation Day. We would like to

Congratulations to Raelynn Christie and Austin Farrow. They were the recipients of the Turnaround Award. It was presented at a very nice luncheon at the Tobacco River Ranch in Clare. Teacher, Holly Smith, presented both students and did a wonderful job. Very proud of everyone. Congratulations. Each student received 6 credits at Mid-Michigan college.

Beaverton Jr/Sr High School held a job fair today. Local businesses were invited to the school and students were able to fill out applications, provided resumes and even interview on the spot. Thank you to our Career Navigator, Misty Johnson, for helping organize this event. What a great opportunity for our students and local businesses.
