EVERYTHING YOU EVER WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT HYDROPHOBIC POLYMERS BUT WERE TOO AFRAID TO ASK: Our Chemistry students got hands-on Wednesday at CMU's museum exhibit "A Century of Science & Service." Students got to explore sodium polyacrylate and its super absorbent properties and learned about hydrophobic and hydrophilic polymers and their applications. The museum gave the students a crossword puzzle to guide them in exploring the exhibit, which is sponsored and co-developed by the Midland branch of the American Chemical Society to commemorate its centennial. As a fitting send-off, the museum gave all the students an egg of Silly Putty. Lots more photos at https://bit.ly/3VG7MPY. #ScienceIsCool #GoBeavers
